How
do I size my dog for pajamas?
The first step is to measure your dog
remember that dog pajamas should not fit tight on the chest
and neck. I usually put one size larger on my dog for their
comfort. For instance Katie wears a size 8 dog clothing but
I put a size 10 pajama on her. The reason is more for the
length it keeps her back end warm in the winter. She doesn’t
need the extra room in the belly as she is so skinny but
it works for her. The one piece of great advice I will give
to you is if you have a short dog like Katie we use a ribbing
for the legs. We do not add fleece or fabric to the top of
the legs for the tiny dogs. The legs must be small enough
so when the dog curls up for a knap he or she does not pull
her legs inside the pajamas.
All our pajamas have only front
legs for that reason. I have heard to many horror stories
about dogs breaking their legs because their legs got stuck.
We try to ensure the safety of your dog. Don’t be
surprised if you get a call from us after you place an
order to verify
the size and kind of dog you own. It is always worth my
time to ensure your pets safety and to confer with you
on the
proper sizing for your pet. For our regular size dogs size
11 and up we add a top piece of the fabric to the leg before
the ribbing. That give them a little more room near the
hip and top of leg and yet assures the safety with a ribbed
cuff.
A full fleece cuff is also available but not for tiny dogs.
Do
we offer harness pajamas?
Our dog pajamas and
lounge wear are meant to be comfortable lounging dog clothing
and should not be used as a harness. A leash should not be
used on this type of clothing. My girls
wear them under their coats in the morning to go outside.
Their coats have a harness ring although I do not need one
I have a fenced in yard. But the harness rings come in handy
when they go outside the home.

Do Male Dogs wear Pajamas that look like
a nightgown?
Yes male dogs wear these all the time. We have a huge variety
of fabrics and most male dog owners will email me or call
and tell me what they are looking for in a fabric. Whether
it is color choice, or the type of fleece heavy or lightweight,
or a flannel my customers come to know just call or email
me I probably have what you are looking for. Many customers
buy the same for their male and female pooches.
My Dog has long hair, can my dog wear dog pajamas?
Yes we construct our lounge wear for our pets with long hair
with wider legs especially at the top. The lounge wear
should be removed after 4 hours for a quick brushing to
make sure
you don’t get knots in their beautiful coat. When
putting on the PJ’s I take a comb and grab the hair
and pull it down though the leg. This has prevented Katie
from matting. I have had no problems with hair knots. But
be aware if you leave the lounge wear on all day and don’t
comb them by the next day you will have a mess. For the
few minutes it takes to brush them it’s worth not
spending a few stressful hours trying to get mats out of
your pampered pet. Again if you have a small dog you cannot
get full legs you will not have a problem with matting.
I have a plump dog, I don’t see her size.
For the well endowed dog such as a pug, please email me for
sizing. We cut all heavy or broad dogs differently. English
bull dogs should custom size their PJ’s as well.
