finished our designs we always test our products on our own
dogs to ensure durability and style.
We use our own dogs for our models. Katie a small
Yorkshire Terrier weighing 2lb 7oz, Emma a tiny Black and
White Parti Poodle weighing 4lbs, Rosie, a black poodle weighing
10lbs, and Chloe a small Labrador Retriever weighing 40lbs.
We let the dog model and wear the finished designed clothing
and watch for movement and just how comfortable the dog is.
All of these facts play in to our finished designs. All of
the above steps is very important to insure we offer our
fur friends the best fit and high fashion designs in dog
coats.

Should I order custom or standard sizing?
If your dog meets the standard sizing chart then order a standard size. However
if your dog is a little bigger in the belly or smaller in the neck, please
order custom. We will be happy to accommodate you. The best dog clothing should
fit perfectly. If the item is not available for custom fit on the web please
contact us. We will do our best to fit your dog perfectly. Remember the fit
will be as good as your measurements.
Can all dogs wear wool?
Most dogs have no problem with our wool coats. All of our
coats are either fleece lined or lined with a silky type
lining in a variety of fabrics.
What is the difference in Fleece Dog Coats?
My Uptown Pooch offers the finest in fleece dog clothing.
Emma Rose Design manufactures all fleece products with
the best available fleece purchased from Malden Mills.
This high quality fabric is anti pill and will look great
after many washings. We do not carry inferior fleece as
the product will not hold up to heavy wear and washing.
Can a harness ring be attached to a coat?
In most cases a harness ring can be attached to your pet’s
coat. However in some cases due to design it may not be possible.
Also please remember if you have a large or strong dog we
do not recommend using a harness ring on your dog clothing.
Couture Dog Coats
Our Couture dog coats are crafted with the finest materials.
High style and high quality are what to expect when you
order your couture clothing. Only a selected few make this
category. They are considered the best of the best in dog
apparel. Examples are Cashmere, and Mohair. They are usually
embellished or contain significant detail.

offer custom designed dog coats for you. A consultation
is required. Please measure your dog carefully before calling.

Can Dog coats be worn over other pet clothing?
Yes a dog coat can be worn over your designer pet apparel.
A measurement should be taken and add at least one inch
more in the neck and one and one half inch on the girth
to allow for the comfort of your pet.
High quality designer pet coats verses mass produced pet coats.
Our dog coats are not mass produced. Our items are individually
constructed by one person from start to finish giving complete
quality control over our items. In mass production, a garment
can be handled by as many as 20 people or more depending
on the steps and design involved. We feel that we can offer
you true designer fashion. Details are an important part
in creating our designs. All clothing is manufactured in
the United States.
How do I clean new dog coat?
Is Cashmere washable?
Your new fleece clothing is machine washable and dryable.
A wool coat should be dry cleaned although these coats
require dry cleaning; a wool coat will stay like new for
years. Our Cashmere coat is dry clean only. Some of these
coats have Crystal Buttons or other embellishments on them.
Please use care in cleaning and washing. If you decide
to use Woolite instead of dry cleaning do not wring your
coat, instead wrap it gently in a Turkish towel and let
the towel absorb the excess water. Lay flat to dry do not
ever put wool, cashmere or leather in a dryer. It will
be ruined forever.
Leather Designer Dog Coats
My Uptown Pooch will be offering Leather designer dog coats
and clothing. The leather is a very high quality. We have
chosen the softest leathers we could find. With colors
ranging from solid pinks to blacks, Metallic Leathers and
other designer printed leathers. The choices will be large.
Our leathers will be in our special designer line of dog
products offered. The care of your new leather product
will be like caring for your own fine leathers. Never wash
leather in a washing machine. There are leather cleaners
on the market for quick touchups. Most dry cleaners offer
leather cleaning. This is a dog coat that will last forever.
Embroidered Dog Coats can be customized
Our Fleece dog coats may be customized with your dogs’ name.
Have a favorite saying? We will gladly embellish your clothing
for a nominal fee.
